Hmmm . . . it's been quiet around here, yes? It's a sad thing, I think. Not that we won't ever be back, it's more of a case of "when" and "in what form". Until then, I've changed commenting to approval only, since it seems that the site has been somewhat vandalized in the absence of proper care. It hasn't been posted online, but my comic, Why I Hate College should have run in today's NTDaily, for those of you who live in Denton. I don't think that the Daily's website has been updated today, though, so you might want to check their site a little later today.

The Call

Wow, I totally posted on time today. Crikey.

Today's comic was done a little differently. I ususally draw each frame separately and then piece it all together in Photoshop, but this time I tried just drawing it all out, frames and everything. It was a lot more fun and much less time consuming. I like it, at least. I think I'll be doing them this way for a while.

Corbie, Harmon, Daniel, and I went to see The Protector this weekend- you know, that one movie where Tony Jaa kicks a guy? If you've ever seen Ong-bak, you might have high expectations for this movie- I certainly did. I was hideously disappointed. Now, this isn't to say that The Protector wasn't an entertaining movie; it was funny in the sense that you're laughing at it and not with it. But, when you're going in expecting some quality cinematography and instead you are served with BMX and WCW, it kind of takes the wind out of your sails. Definitely a one-time watch, this is the kind of flick that you walk away from laughing with all your friends about that one scene where he broke, like, thirty people's arms and that one explosion with the boat and the China man. I'd recommend renting it some weekend when everyone's bored and it's too cold outside to actually get out and do anything.

I'm going to hope to get the next comic out around Thursday.

Why I Hate College

My comic, Why I Hate College ran today in the NTDaily, and it's posted online at their website. I should be running a comic every Tuesday and Thursday for the paper, though I'm not sure how often it will appear online. I have asked for it to be in the online edition, seeing as how many of the people who would like to read it don't go to North Texas or live in Denton, but I'm not sure how consistant they are going to be able to be about it. But, at any rate, it IS posted today, so go check it out! Leave comments if you feel so inclined!

Who is this large-haired young man? What does he want with The Professor's book? Where did all the color go?

All the answers will come in due course.

We're trying to start something a little different lately. We've been in sort of a stylistic rut as of late- we haven't been able to decide on the writting style or format that fits us best. After much fruitless debate and many nights smoking outside of the Starbucks on Coit and Campbell, we've decided to just bite the bullet and go for something, even if we fall on our faces. The something that we've decided on is an old story arch that Cobie played with several years ago, centering on a hero and his arch nemisis, Agent Corbie and Afro Boy, respectively. I think it'll be an interesting project.

On a more personal note, some of you may be interested that Corbie and I aquired two brand new family members over the weekend- two beautiful little calico girl kittens who have been dubbed Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. They are a handful and a half, and we love them to death...we're quickly discovered just how perfect the naming choices were! I know it's silly, but I'm proud of my little babies and look forward to seeing how they grow up. They are playing on the couch beside me as I type...Harley clawing at my toes and Ivy trying to walk across the keyboard.

UNT starts fall semester classes today...and I won't be going. It's a nice feeling. For all those brave souls starting school this weekend...I saulte you.

The story continues, hopefully on Wednesday of this week! Those of you who have been keeping up with the site know that that means somewhere closer to Friday. We'll see how much time the cats will allow me this week. Until then-

Random Doodle Day!

Sorry for the false promises. Hope decided to take a trip to Shertown, and I decided to go with her. We ate horrible Tia's food and attempted to dye Zach's hair black, with little success. Oh well. So, that's why the comic is late. I should be posting again on Thursday.

In other news......HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CORBIE!! He's 21 now and can buy me all the margaritas my heart desires. Oh, and beers for himself, I suppose, should he want them.

Everyone go check out the Shertown MySpace, and add us if you have one. We'll post bulletins whenever we get a new comic or something else interesting up.

Zach bought the Harmon picture and the painting of Chelle in her traditional garb, so there are two paintings left.

The Band Wagon

Shertown has jumped on the band wagon, and we now have a MySpace. I know, we're horrible. Anyway, we are here. Go and add us, if you have a myspace, or just make fun of us for being lemmings if you don't.

Today's comic will be posted later this afternoon when I get home from work...I was a silly girl and forgot to post it this morning. That, and I slept in again, as usual. I swear, I am never ever on time for work. My poor manager.
